I was fishing for little bluefish because thats all that was really in the surf at the the time and while unhooking a Clearnose Skate rather carelessly, I was bitten by the creature and was definitely the most physical pain a fish has ever inflicted on me. Enjoy!
**We KEEP Stingrays for shark bait, that’s the main reason for removing the barb. It is also extra insurance for us so that when there’s a tourist swimming next to the fishing pier that gets stabbed by one when we release it, we don’t get blamed for it!**
You aren’t supposed to swim next to fishing piers for this exact reason!

The St. Lawrence River is by far my favorite place in the country to fish! With more water than you can fish in a lifetime, it holds some of the largest and most fierce smallmouth that swim. The Bassmaster Elite Series timed this one perfect in August as you can tell by the massive weights.

The “Suspender” is a fantastic smallmouth bass fly. It slowly sinks in the water column, and has an enticing erratic motion. It is quick and easy to tie.

Catch big bass on YOUR lake right now with swim jigs. With flooding spring rains plus bass, bluegill & shad spawning, swim jigs are my favorite way to catch lots of largemouth bass right now. After getting pounded by spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, jigs, and plastics all spring, swim jigs are the perfect blend of power and finesse to catch ’em in the shallows. Best late prespawn through the shad/bluegill spawns, try them March through May in the South, April through June up North.
A clip from a bass session from a while back. Fishing with lures is one of the most satisfying method of catching bass. Irish bass are a hard fighting fish.
