Fishing with a drop shot is a great tactic for catching big bass at just about any time of the year. In this episode, Jim and Brian are fishing on Shearon Harris Lake in early summer as the spawn is coming to an end. We had been fishing most of the morning with a lipless crankbait and catching some white perch while on the hunt for bass. The bite was slow in shallow water that morning so Jim switched over to a drop shot setup late morning. After just a few casts, he caught a bass that was about 1-1.5lbs. The very next cast, Jim hooks into this 5 lb 12 oz. largemouth. He just happened to be using his light tackle rod with only 4 lb test fluorocarbon on it and soon found himself in a lengthy fight with this 5 lb bass. Check out the video to see how it plays out!
